Crystal Pepsi is Back!

Yep, I was in Wal-Mart and was totally surprised to come around the corner of the isle and see something I haven't seen for many many years - Crystal Pepsi!

Now I will say, I haven't drank Pepsi, of any kind, in years. But the nostalgia of Crystal Pepsi brought me back for a taste. I last remember drinking Crystal Pepsi it in the 90s, sitting outside of the local grocery store sipping from a frosty blue can. It's slightly weird to hear myself say that this bubbly transparent sugar water is giving me the nostalgic warm and fuzzies, but it is.

After a nice chilling in the fridge, I took a big sip and it was... pretty tasty! Back in the day, I also seem to remember Crystal Pepsi having a slightly different taste from regular Pepsi - but that could be my fuzzy memory talking... In any case, I did enjoy drinking it, although my stomach doesn't seem as forgiving to Pepsi as it used to. I think next time I won't drink it all at once...

Anyway, my brother did some looking online and it seems that we in Canada are getting this before the US, where it doesn't release until August! He also read that it's apparently a "limited for 8 weeks" thing. In any case, if you're interested, keep an eye out - you might see it very soon!

"Rad"

I've been hearing a word lately that I remember fondly from my youth - but it's been people other than me saying it, total strangers even - That word being "rad".

Is it just me, or is this word making a comeback?! And if so, I'll tell you, I couldn't be happier :)

That's pretty rad.

5 Greatest Songs of the 90's

What are the 5 top songs of the 90's? I recently had this question posed to me and I had to think about it for a while. The 90's was an interesting decade for music - in a good way.

If I were to answer this question, I know I would be leaving out some great great music, but off the top of my head - and with the important caveat that I'm listing songs that most people have heard of - here are at least 5 of my favorite songs from the 90's;

5. Fastball's "The Way" is a neat song with a neat story, and it just makes you feel good.

4. Also, a wonderfully singable yet reflective and cathartic song to watch the candle burn out by (surrounded by friends of course) "Closing Time" by Semisonic.

3. Another favorite is Jars of Clay's haunting, driving, also very singable "Flood"

2. How could Haddaway's "What is Love?" not be on the list? Quintessentially early 90's, and irresistible! Try turning this one on and not have your shoulders start to bounce, and your lungs begin to belt out the chorus!

1. Lastly, Smashing Pumpkins' haunting "1979" will always flood me with wonderful and not so wonderful memories. I hardly know any of the lyrics, but the sound of it is indescribable. 1979 sounds so different from any other song I know of.

So what are your 5 Top Songs of the 90's?
